International students studying at GIA campus in Hong Kong will enjoy an exciting and rewarding experience. The transition to living in Hong Kong should not be difficult, but you must be aware of certain rules and regulations which govern your stay in Hong Kong, and pertain to your enrollment at GIA.
International students must have valid student visas allowing them to attend GIA or valid visas for at least 6 months to complete the program. The entry visas must be obtained prior to entering Hong Kong.
In addition to your enrollment application, GIA requires the following documents before we process your enrollment. All documents sent to GIA Hong Kong must be in English or include an English-language translation.
- A completed enrollment application form.
- A copy of the page in your passport that shows your birth date, citizenship and country of birth, or a copy of your birth certificate.
- Documentation of your proficiency in English. You can fulfill this requirement by obtaining satisfactory results on a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examination. You may also demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting proof of graduation from a secondary school or college in which English is the language of instruction.The minimum score required on the TOEFL is 500 (paper based) or 173 (computer based). The minimum score required on the IELTS is Band 5.0.
- Payment of HK$10,000 refundable confirmation fee and 10% of the total tuition non-refundable and non-transferable deposit.
- Local Sponsorship as required in Form ID-936.
- Once GIA receives all of the above documents, you will receive a Letter of Acceptance which you can use to apply for your visa. Student, whose visa application is unsuccessful, will be refunded the deposit amount minus HK$1,000 administrative fee. However, if you decide to withdraw from the course on your own accord, GIA will withhold 10% of the total tuition non-refundable and non-transferable deposit.
